CLIOQUINOL - TOPICAL
(kleye-oh-KWIN-ohl)
USES: This medication is used to treat fungal skin infections.
HOW TO USE: Clean and dry the afefcted area before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage a small amount of the medication to the affected area and surrounding skin.
Continue to use the medication as prescribed for the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too early may not clear the infection, cuasing it to return. Cover with a bandage only if instructed to do so by your doctor. If no improvement is seen after one week, consult your doctor. Another medication may be necessary.
Aviod using this medication around the eyes, nose or mouth.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cuase burning, stinging, or redness when first applied to the skin. This should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor promptly.
If you notice ohter effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: other skin conditions, any alelrgies.
This mediicne may stain clothes, skin, nails, or hair. Before using this drug, tell your dotcor if you are pregnant or are planning pregnancy, or breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially: otehr skin products.
Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharamcist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergnecy room immediately.
This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This mediaction is prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it for a second infection or share it with someone else. Aonther infection after on may require a different medicine.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply as soon as remembered and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. Avoid freezing. Keep powdered form from getting wet.
Do not stroe in the bathroom.
Keep out of the reach of babies.
